With 40.000 inhabitants, Newbury is a charming little town located in the county of Berkshire.  Its center is 30 minutes away from Oxford and 45 minutes away from London. The town is surrounded by a magnificent countryside; its center is pedestrian and offers plenty of shops and many shopping centers. On Thursday and Saturdays, Newbury hosts a market. The town is crossed by the Kennet & Avon canal – which had been closed for age and only reopened in 1990- before it joins the Thames.
